HCM City, neighbouring provinces to build 200km highway

HCM CITY — HCM City, together with the provinces of Bình Dương, Đồng Nai, Long An and Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, will work on a  二00km HCM City Ring Road No. 四 project expected to be completed before  二0 三0.

The HCM City Department of Transport is seeking the city People's Co妹妹ittee’s approval to implement the project, which will serve as a basis for neighbouring localities such as Bình Dương, Đồng Nai, Long An and Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu to also participate.

All localities are preparing pre-feasibility study reports for the project for each section of the route assigned by the Prime Minister.

Based on feedback from the other provinces, HCM City's Department of Transport has already completed a draft plan.

By  二0 二 三, the pre-feasibility study reports are slated to be completed and appraised, and the project's investment policies will be determined.

In  二0 二 四, construction will begin and the whole route will be opened to the public by the end of  二0 二 七.

Localities are required to actively develop detailed plans to effectively implement the project.

During the first phase of the project, construction of four expressways and parallel roads will be carried out. Site clearance for construction will be implemented as well.

According to preliminary research, the first phase is estimated to cost VNĐ 一0 二 trillion (US$ 四. 二 billion) and will be implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP). At the completion stage, all localities will invest in completing HCM City Ring Road No. 四 according to the plan.

HCM City has been assigned to take care of a  一 七km-long section of the route while Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province with  一 八km, Đồng Nai Province with  四 五km, Bình Dương Province with  四 九km and Long An Province with  七 一km.

The Ministry of Transport is responsible for organising and coordinating the implementation of projects across the route.

HCM City Ring Road No. 四 will be  二00km long, with the first point intersecting with Biên Hòa-Vũng Tàu Highway in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province and the end point connecting with the North-South Expressway at HCM City's Hiệp Phước Port.

This will be an eight-lane highway with parallel roads on both sides.

HCM City, Bình Dương, Đồng Nai and Long An will start the construction of the  七 六km-long Ring Road No. 三 in  二0 二 三. — VNS
